THE SECOND B&H CONGRESS ON THE ROADS
During the First B&H Congress on Roads held on 27th and 28th September 2007 at
the Holiday Inn Hotel Congress Centre in Sarajevo various aspects of roads and
road network (such as planning, designing, construction, managing, safety,
financing and environmental protection) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, neighboring
countries and Europe presented. More than 570 participants from Bosnia and
Herzegovina, Spain, Hungary, Germany, Austria, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia,
Turkey, Great Britain and Holland took part in this gathering, which had
international character. 84 papers were presented during the Congress, while 142
reports were published in the Congress Collection of Papers.
Besides, the Studies and Design documentation are under drafting for around 130
km of motorway in corridor Vc trough B&H, as well as Feasibility studies for
motorways Banja Luka - Doboj (72 km), Tuzla - Orašje (60 km) and high speed road
Lašva - Donji Vakuf (54 km). Under construction are the setions of Sarajevo
bypass, motorway section in corridor Vc Dobrinje-Kakanj and section
Klašnice-Gradiška on motorway Banja Luka-Gradiška.
Therefore the Second B&H Congress on the Roads is an opportunity to analyse
issues in all aspects of road transportation system development in Bosnia and
Herzegovina and its environment at the time of intensive motorway construction
in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Second B&H Congress on Roads is an International Congress. The environmental
protection, new road management system, new road construction and maintenance
materials, innovations in road designing, standardization and financing are
topics, wich should be at interest for experts of various profiles, investors,
public administration, economy and broad public.
On behalf of Organization board and ACE B&H, it is my great pleasure to invite
you to the Second B&H Congress on Roads which will take place in Sarajevo 24-25.
September 2009 in hotel Radon Plaza Sarajevo. I am certain that your active
participation will help all of us to become more efficient in planning and
future project implementation. ACE B&H expect from you to take this opportunity
to present your initiatives for the challenges facing the road construction in
B&H and in the world.
